When connecting a USB dongle to a USB port of your local computer, the dongle appears in the Donglify interface with a name assigned to it by the system.
To make it easier to identify and share dongles with remote computers, the software allows changing the system name of any USB dongle to the one you prefer.
A renamed dongle will be shown with the new name on every client computer it is connected to.
In order to change your dongle name, do as follows:
On Windows
1. Start Donglify and share your USB dongle over the network.
2. Сlick the “Pencil” icon next to the dongle name.
3. Type a new name
4. Press Enter.
On macOS
1. Start Donglify and share your USB dongle over the network.
2. Сlick the dongle name.
3. Type a new name.
4. Press Enter.
Note: If you leave the name field blank and press Enter, the system name of the dongle will be restored.
