Every action related to using serial ports is registered in the Activity log. Thus, it’s the simplest way to check for errors after opening or closing a serial port.
To open the log, click “Help” on the top right menu, and then pick the “Activity log” option from the dropdown menu:
After that, the “Activity log” panel will be invoked:
