- Server- and client-type connections are completely interchangeable. That is, having multiple clients connected to a single server is essentially the same as having multiple servers connected to a single client. Logically, though, it is usually more convenient to use server connections for sharing ports, client – for establishing remote connections.
- Serial to Ethernet Connector is based on a client-server architecture and its use generally implies installation on both sides. However, if the application on your remote host is capable of initializing outgoing TCP connections, Serial to Ethernet Connector is not needed there.
