Serial to Ethernet Connector v8 offers new options that make it easier to manage your serial port connections.
Pause connections
You can pause an active Client, Server, or UDP connection making your local COM port unavailable for data transfer. Once connection is unpaused the data transmission restarts:
Reset statistics
It’s possible to reset the statistics, including the number of received and sent data bytes, for a particular connection.
To reset the statistics, you should do the following:
- Click on the required connection in the connections list to open the connection info window;
- In the Remote clients/servers/hosts table select the connection for which you want to reset the statistics;
- Click the Reset statistics button.
Disconnect remote hosts
If you have an active Server connection and want to disconnect a certain remote client, you can select it in the remote clients list, and click the Disconnect button. After the disconnection, the remote client will be able to reestablish the connection with the server, if needed.
If you have an active Client connection and want to disconnect a certain remote server, you can select it in the remote servers list, and click the Disconnect button. After the disconnection, the client will not be able to reestablish the connection with the remote server until the Serial to Ethernet Connector Service is restarted or the connection is paused and unpaused on the client side.
