The OpenStack Object Storage project (“Swift”) is a highly available, distributed, eventually consistent object/blob storage. OpenStack Swift is most suitable for backing up and archiving unstructured data, e.g. documents, images, audio and video files, emails and virtual machine images.

To mount your OpenStack Swift account as a local drive:

  1. Select OpenStack Swift in the new connection window.

  1. Indicate the connection name.

  1. Specify the authentication URL, login, password and tenant (aka “project”) in the respective fields.

  2. Indicate the container name, or use the / (slash) character to indicate the root directory, in which case all containers of the specific account will be listed as folders.

  3. Click Connect.
